Railways reacts to viral pic of bride sitting on floor of train

A photograph of a bride sitting on the floor of a train has got the internet talking, with several users debating the circumstances and credibility behind the viral image. As the photograph went viral, Indian Railways reacted to it.
The picture, which portrays a woman in a red saree sitting on the train floor, was shared by Jitesh on X, who claimed this was his “wife” in it. The image has been doing rounds on the internet as several users shared it, adding their context and opinion to it.
It all began when a user on X, who goes by the username Potato, shared the image, urging parents to reconsider their daughters’ marriages based on economic stability.
“Dear parents, please don’t marry your daughter to a man who cannot afford a decent lifestyle for himself and also your daughter. Sooner or later, an economic crisis will become the reason for their daily fights,” she said.
The post took an unexpected turn when Jites claimed that the woman in the viral photograph was his “wife” and blamed the Railways for the situation.
His post read, “Thank you, Ashwini Vaishnav ji. Because of you, my wife is getting this world-class train facility today. I will always be indebted to you.”
Take a look at his post here:
The official handle of Railway Seva reacted to the post and requested Jitesh’s PNR number to investigate the issue.
“We request you to please share the journey details (PNR/UTS No.) and Mobile No. with us preferably via DM so that immediate action can be taken on your complaint. You may also raise your concern directly on http://railmadad.indianrailways.gov.in or dial 139 for speedy redressal,” it said.
Despite repeated reminders, Jitesh did not provide the requested details or react to the Railway’s response to the matter, sparking scepticism among users.
Several users began to question the authenticity of the post and slammed Jitesh.
“If she is travelling in a reserved coach without a confirmed reservation, she is violating the law. You should be ashamed of yourself for failing her as a husband by not booking her train reservation on time. Thankfully, the railway authorities showed leniency and did not ask her to disembark,” a user said.
Another user added, “What an irresponsible person you are, you can’t reserve a seat in advance for yourself and your wife and are blaming the ministry for your irresponsibility.”
